When I was young, my teachers always told me that I would make a difference in the world. I guess it would have spoiled the fun if they had known what I would do to make a difference, but I grew up with the hope that I would figure that out someday.

As it turns out, it wasn’t until I was thirty five that my destiny would finally manifest itself. I had been working for about ten years as a nurse in a hospital, when I began to notice the number of seniors that had difficulty hearing, but were not doing anything about it.

So, I decided that I would see if I could remedy the situation and I was able to form a foundation that had as a mandate to provide hearing aids to whomever needed them if they were unable to afford one themselves.

The foundation was welcomed with open arms in our community, and to this day we have helped nearly 2,500 people to hear again. There has been much financial support from our community and we have had a number of businesses join our cause as well. Though it may seem like a small contribution, we are changing the world one person at a time.
