Bridezilla inquired:
I am considering processing medical claims at home. I ran across a company that promises you all the claims you can handle bla bla and they send/receive their claims through a billing software called Network that is internet based. Has anyone ever heard of this software and is it the real deal or just another fly by night company?
Any info would be appreciated
Serious answers only…please
To clarify:
I don’t harass people as in what a “bill collector” does, I enter charges for doctor’s so they get money.
Sounds to me like one of those “too good to be true” claims, and work-at-home business that sound too good to be true usually are. In my experience, most medical coding/billing companies require at least 5 years of outside experience in a clinic or hospital before they will hire you to work at home.
Check out the company’s website: do they have contact information available? A lot of the scam websites will use e-mail addresses at sites like GMail or Yahoo, so look for their e-mail address and if it is at yahoo.com or gmail.com, sbcglobal.com, etc. it is most likely a scam. Also, do they require any money at all up front, like for a “start up kit” or for training? If so, that is a pretty big red flag.
Don’t go into that field unless you want people to **** you. I can not stand medical bill collectors. What a pain in the behind.
My rule of thumb is that anything that sounds too good to be true, like work at home opportunities, is probably a rip-off or a con. Be careful.
